
The Office of Fair Trade is warning people not to deal with cold-callers and travelling salesmen who aren’t from the Isle of Man.
This week, a gang of Eastern Europeans selling jewellery were asked to leave the Island after reports they had used hard-selling tactics on doorsteps in Peel.
Chief Officer of the OFT, Nick Black (pictured), says anyone with concerns can call his office to check whether people are trading legally and is asking the public to be vigilant.
He says traders found to be breaking the law will face the full weight of the law:
