Onchan drugs raid uncovers just £24 of cannabis

25-year-old admits possessing the class B drug

A court's heard a drugs raid in Onchan uncovered cannabis with a street value of just £24.

Twenty-five-year-old Charlie Derek Marshall of Birch Hill Avenue appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Christopher Arrowsmith at Douglas Courthouse.

He admitted possessing the class B drug at a former address in Royal Court in Onchan.

The court heard police executed a search warrant at Marshall's home on 26 February.

Inside the flat, they found drug paraphernalia and 1.2 grammes of cannabis bush.
Unemployed Marshall told officers the drugs were his and he'd been smoking cannabis recreationally.

Defence advocate David Clegg told the court Marshall had since got a job as a gardener and had stopped using the drug.

Mr Arrowsmith imposed a £300 fine and ordered the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.

Marshall was also ordered to pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
