Onchan woman accused of injuring pedestrian to face trial

Motorist denies causing serious bodily harm by driving without due care and attention

An Onchan woman will face trial in February, accused of seriously injuring a pedestrian in a car crash.

Eighty-four-year-old Vivien Proven of Seacliffe View was due to appear before magistrates at Douglas courthouse, but was excused attending.

At an earlier hearing, she pleaded not guilty to one allegation of causing serious bodily harm by driving without due care and attention on 2 January.

Her case was adjourned by the bench, and she’ll appear again on 24 February for the start of her trial.
