One teaching union accepts education pay offer

Three unions are still to respond

One of the five teaching unions represented on the Isle of Man has accepted the latest pay offer from the Department of Education.

It follows the intention of the NASUWT teaching union to take six days of strike action over the next four months, following a long-running dispute over pay, workload and working practices.

Education Minister Julie Edge believes the offer presented at the end of September is fair and addresses all concerns and has confirmed one union accepted it on Friday.

The other three unions are yet to respond with their decision. 

Ms Edge also told Manx Radio that the NASUWT hasn't yet officially declined the offer:
