Talk to schools says Education Minister
The Education Minister has urged pupils affected by online abuse to speak to schools about the issue.
Graham Cregeen says tackling incidents of bullying on social media is difficult, with schools able to provide support, but unable to take disciplinary action on what happens off-site.
He was speaking during a sitting of the Social Affairs Policy Review committee yesterday (16 Mar) with the department's chief executive Ronald Barr.
Mr Cregeen says who takes responsibility for incidents outside of school is a complex area, but help is available:
Plan for future of Hospice to be brought forward 'during this administration'
Online gambling sector subject to more 'rigorous scrutiny' than ever before
Plans to create a 'people's mandate' for prospective election candidates
Open Farm event inspires next generation of Manx farmers
