First steps to develop system
A move to give parents access to online information about their children’s schooling has taken its first step forward.
However, Education and Children Minister Graham Cregeen insists there is a long way to go before such a facility is available.
Tynwald this morning (Wed) approved regulations which will allow the department to develop a system from which parents can view details such as their children's progress, attendance and notify the school of details like change of address or phone number.
After concerns were raised, Mr Cregeen told colleagues data security was an 'utmost' priority and approval would allow his officers to explore the idea further.
