Hooper quizzed on capacity and demand for services
Operational challenges remain and are an everyday occurrence in delivering social care services across the Isle of Man.
That's according to Health and Social Care Minister, Lawrie Hooper in a written Tynwald answer following a question on capacity and demand for local home care services.
He says the Community Support Service (CSS) is currently providing assistance to 129 users with an average of 1400-1500 home visits per week.
There have also been 62 referrals to the CSS in the last twelve months.
The minister adds 'recruitment, selection and retention of staff, alongside the usual winter pressures' are a continuing issue for services provided by both Manx Care and the private sector.
Mr Hooper also states the transformation programme is currently consulting on 'significant' changes to care services which could 'fundamentally transform' what is available on Island.
