Liberal Vannin leader Peter Karran's ministerial post could be at risk after he voted against government plans to buy a stake in Pinewood Shepperton Studios yesterday.
The Education Minister voted against the proposals citing similar concerns – a contribution described as a ‘resignation speech’ by Michael MHK Alf Cannan and as a ‘political suicide note’ by Middle member Howard Quayle.
His Lib Vann colleague South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft led the opposition to the plans, amid concerns there been no independent due diligence, nor had members seen Pinewood Shepperton’s business plan or cash flow projections.
She called for the matter to be referred to the public accounts committee.
