Orran Smith completes gruelling Spine Race in 10th place

Manx athlete raises more than £7000 for IOM MS Society

After 5 days of little to no sleep, below freezing temperatures, and more than 2000m of elevation, Orran Smith has crossed the finish line of the toughest race of his life to date.

Orran and his race companion Clarens finished in 10th and 11th place, completing the event within the 160-hour deadline with plenty of time to spare.

Starting the Spine Race on Sunday morning (15 Jan) alongside 157 others, 67 of which have since dropped out, he finished the continuous 268-mile challenge, which runs along the Pennine Way, around 4:30 this afternoon. (19 Jan)

Orran took on the Race in aid of the Isle of Man MS Society and has raised more than £7000 so far, you can find a link to donate here.

His partner Nikki told us how Orran's been feeling:
