Manx National Farmer's Union will provide legal advice to members in due course
The owner of dogs illegally shot by two farmers after 60 sheep and lambs were killed says he forgives them.
31 year-old Jeffrey Fargher from Ballasalla and 29 year-old Crosby man Daniel Creer were given two-year conditional discharges yesterday (22 August) for destroying property in April.
Fargher shot both four-year-old Newfoundland Cross ‘Scooby-Doo’ and four-month-old Weimaraner ‘Caesar Sam’ in the head at point-blank range.
It was found there was no lawful excuse for doing it - Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes ordered Creer and Fargher to pay £1,000 in prosecution costs each.
The Manx National Farmer's Union says it'll consider the facts of the matter and provide legal advice to its members in due course.
Neil Cheetham was ordered to pay £6,700 compensation to Mr Creer after he pleaded guilty to offences of worrying livestock on agricultural land last month. His dogs killed 13 ewes and 52 lambs in the incident, described in the courtroom as "a scene of carnage".
