There has been a sharp increase in ownership of material goods in the Isle of Man.
A new report by the Manx Treasury is based on a survey of over 150 households and 400 people.
It reveals that 90 per cent of households own a mobile phone, something which wasn't even on the survey the last time it was carried out in 1996.
Also the number of people with satellite TV has more than doubled from a third to over two thirds.
Ownership of home computers has risen substantially to over 60 per cent, and 89 per cent of people have a DVD player.
