Report deeply critical of Infrastructure department
The chairman of Tynwald’s public accounts committee says he’ll ask the court to reinforce the need for following financial rules in the wake of a damning report into silt dredging at Peel.
The report – which will be laid before the court this month but debated in two months time – says the Department of Infrastructure ignored financial regulations when it contracted out the work.
Alf Cannan MHK, whose committee carried out the investigation, says the evidence clearly showed the rules had been flouted.
He says he’ll ask for Tynwald to back the body’s conclusion at its March sitting:
'Power of veto' might help get difficult decisions through, says chief minister
Gas prices to remain unchanged for 2026
Ramsey Commissioners not adding 'optional' one percent increase to social housing rents
New gynaecology clinic room will 'significantly increase capacity'
