Paedophile jailed for historical child sex offences

Ramsey man sentenced to 11 years in prison

A Ramsey man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison, and placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely, for historical child sex offences.

Fifty-year-old Michael James Moore had been convicted of four counts of rape and two indecent assaults on a child.

The offences happened in the early 1990s.

Detective Constable Emily Perkins from the Public Protection Unit has commended the victim for coming forward and remaining strong through the court proceedings.

She hopes this, and other recent historical cases, will encourage other victims to come forward:
