'Patientrack' digital technology takes over
Traditional paper observation sheets for Noble's Hospital patients have become a thing of the past.
All medical wards have now been installed with so-called Patientrack digital technology, after a successful pilot scheme by health bosses.
The system automatically records signs such as pulse, blood pressure and temperature - before generating a 'score' to represent the patient's current condition.
Patientrack can also refer those whose health is worsening to specialists and emergency doctors.
It's been piloted in several UK hospitals in recent years - leading to reduced rates of cardiac arrest, and the length of stay in intensive care.
