Visitors to the Curraghs Wildlife Park have helped to raise £1,000 for the protection of endangered primates.

To coincide with International Gibbon Day this week (24 October), zookeepers announced the money was being donated to protecting Silvery Gibbons on the south east Asian island of Java.

The Wildlife Park in Ballaugh is one of a few facilities worldwide to promote captive breeding of the endangered species.

Last month, parents Slamet and Nakula welcomed the park's newest addition - little baby Ffinlo.
