PC Fiona Bone remembered at UK event

National Police Unity Tour cycle ride today

Police officers from across the UK have embarked on a cycle ride today, to raise money for a charity which supports families who've lost someone while on duty.

The National Police Unity Tour will see hundreds of riders take part - from their local areas to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

A memorial service was held in Hull this morning ahead of the event - with families who'd lost a loved one in attendance.

Among those who attended was the family of a police officer who grew up on the Isle of Man.

PC Fiona Bone was killed, along with her colleague PC Nicola Hughes, in a gun and grenade attack in Manchester in 2012.

Dale Creegan had lured the officers to the location after making a false 999 call - he was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a whole life order.

At the service Fiona's father Paul (Bone), who until recently lived in Port St Mary, explained what impact the tragedy had on his family:
