Pedestrian loses life

A pedestrian who was injured in a road accident last month has died in hospital.

The incident happened at around 6pm on November 20 as the man, who hasn't been named, was crossing the road at the junction of Albert Road and Queen's Pier Road in Ramsey.

He was struck by a silver Citroen Picasso which was being driven by a man from Ramsey.

Inspector Derek Flint, head of roads policing, says police are very sorry to hear of the death of the gentleman.

The accident had been treated as potentially life-threatening and a full scene study was carried out at the time.

However, he's appealing again for witnesses to come forward as it's important to obtain a clear picture of exactly what happened.

Anyone who can help is asked to ring Constable Paul Dugdale at police headquarters on 631212.
