Residents came to the rescue after a potentially dangerous spillage in Peel yesterday.
A large amount of nails fell onto Ballaquane Road, leading police to cordon off the area.
It took around an hour to clear the debris.
Members of the public who came out with 'brooms in hand' to help have been thanked by officers.
