Peel teen caught breaching ASBO

Connor Lewis to appear again in October

A teenager from Peel caught breaching an anti-social behaviour order will appear in court again next month.

Connor Lewis of Queens Drive West appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.

The 18-year-old had pleaded not guilty to breaching but was found guilty after a trial.

Under the terms of the ASBO, imposed last July, Lewis had to obey a strict curfew, avoid associating with two other men as well as be of good behaviour.

The trial heard on 14 April an off-duty police officer was walking through Peel when she spotted what looked like a fight in a car park involving Lewis.

He was with another man he was banned from associating with but made off before officers could speak to him.

Later, police called at his house at 9pm when he should have been at home, only to get no answer.

Magistrates adjourned the case for pre-sentencing reports, and Lewis was bailed to appear again on 17 October.
