Keys poll to raise voter interest - former commissioner
An outgoing Ramsey Commissioner says he believes voters are saving themselves for autumn’s national polls.
A general election will be held on September 22, just five months away.
Despite turnouts so far being relatively high, Captain Nigel Malpass says some may be avoiding local elections because they’re waiting to deliver verdicts on their MHKs.
He thinks autumn’s Houe of Keys election will see far more people turning out to cast their ballots:
85 people referred to Victim Support since start of the year
Island praised as assisted dying legislation stalls across the water
Taxis struggling with demand as bus driver strike continues
Service to mark 68th anniversary of Winter Hill disaster
