77-year-old was fined £10,000 earlier this year
A petition criticising a £10,000 fine imposed on a 77-year-old lobster fisherman will be presented to the Speaker of the House of Keys.
David Quillin, from Port Erin, was prosecuted earlier this year after 17 lobsters in his catch of 139 were found to be millimetres under the minimum size.
Mr Quillin, who has been part of the fishing industry for more than 45 years, played a key role in the introduction of hatches into pots to enable young lobsters to escape.

Responding to the court case at the time DEFA member Michelle Haywood told Manx Radio the department had no role in setting the penalty.
She said it was the role of its officers to detect and highlight when the law had been broken adding that the fine, in Mr Quillin's case, was relative to the value of the catch and the severity of the infringement which involved several undersized lobsters.
