Petition to save Poyll Dooey from becoming a housing estate launched

Ramsey Commissioner Lamara Craine hoped it wouldn't reach planning stage

A petition has been set up to stop a housing estate being built next to a nature reserve in Ramsey.

Town Commissioner Lamara Craine says Poyll Dooey is one of the last few open and green spaces, which is a 'haven' for residents.

The planning application goes before the committee on Monday.

Ms Craine hoped it wouldn't have got to this stage adding the salt marsh holds 'ecological significance' that can't be replaced:

The petition can be found HERE.
