Pictures show where ferry terminal will go

CGI images of Liverpool waterfront project

We've been given a (slightly) clearer idea of how a new Manx ferry terminal in Liverpool could look.

Brand new computer-generated impressions of the £5 billion Liverpool Waters project have been published by developer Peel Ports.

The images show off the scale of the scheme, which will span a mile and a half from the Bramley Moore Dock - the new home of Everton Football Club - and Princes Dock, the proposed site for a new £30 million Isle of Man ferry terminal.

Formal plans have yet to be submitted by the Department of Infrastructure.

The site will be half a mile away from the current Pier Head dock, which is being cleared to make way for a giant cruise liner terminal.

But the relocation has prompted concerns from passenger group TravelWatch, due to a lack of public transport access to the city centre.

However, Liverpool Waters chiefs say pedestrians and cyclists will find it easier than ever to get around with new pathways.

Assistant project director at Liverpool Waters, Ian Pollitt, called it 'the single biggest regeneration project' in the city's history.
