High schools say they have been notified of cancelled walkouts
It's been confirmed that planned teaching strikes next week have been called off.
Members of the NASUWT union were due to walkout on Wednesday and Thursday as part of an ongoing row over pay and conditions.
A statement issued this lunchtime says: 'The Department of Education, Sport & Culture is pleased that following constructive talks with the NASUWT they have today felt able to suspend the strike days planned for 15th and 16th February, in order to allow talks to continue to resolve the current dispute.'
The announcement was put out earlier, after Castle Rushen High School and Ballakermeen confirmed they'd been notified by the Department of Education, Sport and Culture as to the NASUWT's plans NOT to stage a walkout.
