Plans for almost 300 new houses in Ballasalla

Dandara development would include by-pass road

A planning application has now been submitted for almost 300 new dwellings in the south of the Island, and extensive associated infrastructure.

The proposals mainly concern a substantial residential development in Ballasalla - to the tune of 282 new houses.

The application has been submitted by Dandara, and Graham Cregeen earlier expressed his support for the move.

You can now view the plans in full, by heading to the gov.im planning and building control website, to see the weekly publication list.

Included are details of a proposed by-pass road between the main Douglas Road to the north of the village and the rear of Railway Terrace, which incorporates a new roundabout.

There are also plans to construct a bridge over the Isle of Man Steam Railway line, with a public open space and associated highway and drainage works also outlined.
