Facility would fully charge electric car's battery in one hour
Manx Utilities wants to install an electric car charging point that would fully charge a vehicle's battery in one hour at the Sea Terminal.
The authority has submitted a planning application for a 50kw rapid charge PodPoint in the car park.
The facility would be in addition to the existing spaces, increasing capacity in the car park to 38.
The organisation says it comes following demand from the public for more rapid charge sites on the Island, and hopes the location will also benefit businesses and taxi drivers looking to reduce their carbon emissions.
