Could reduce trespassing and vandalism
Changes could be made at a Douglas car park, to make it more secure, if plans are given the green light.
Manx Utilities has applied for permission to make changes to the entrance to the multi-storey car park between Lord Street and Queen Street.
A 2.4m automated electric gate could be installed at the vehicle entrance to replace the barrier system there - a new gate for pedestrians would also be put in.
The MUA says barriers at the site have failed and now is the time to make the facility more secure to reduce trespassing and vandalism.
It would also aim to continue making sure vehicles aren't blocking surrounding roads and pavements when entering.
The proposals are pending consideration.
