Single-use bags could be targeted
A levy on plastic bags could finally be introduced in the Island - but it's not expected to happen for another two years.
The charge, which is already in place in neighbouring countries, would apply to single use bags.
The move is proposed in addition to a government plan to reduce the amount of the material it uses.
Environment Minister Geoffrey Boot says the legislation may be aimed at ensuring local charities benefit:
Vote on Castle Rushen High School funding 'very unlikely' before election
Ramsey Commissioners to host public meeting about cottage hospital
WCAS reuse garages to reopen on trial basis
Manannan's morning sailings cancelled due to weather conditions
