Manx Support Refugees group says aid network is 'swamped'

People are being urged to stop donating items to Ukraine due to the UK's aid network being 'swamped'.

The group coordinating a response to the refugee crisis on the Isle of Man – Manx Support Refugees – says the response has been 'overwhelming'.

It's sending three wagons off-Island tonight which will join a convoy to Poland - donations will be accepted at the Isle of Man Post Office until the end of today.

But the group says it has nowhere to send those donations to so they'll be stored until they are needed or an alternative plan is made.

People are being asked to keep hold of items for the future, consider selling them and donating the money or give them to Manx charities working on the Island instead.
