Plethora of tales to be told at Knockaloe

Centre aiming for April 2019 opening

One of the brains behind the Knockaloe Internment Camp Visitor Centre says the project aims to tell a whole range of stories - from the 23,000 men interned there 100 years ago, as well as the local people involved.

The Centre is beginning to take shape, with windows installed, and internal fixtures and fittings being added.

It's hoped the heritage attraction will open its doors in April 2019, to mark the hundredth anniversary of the internees leaving the camp.

Board Member Alison Jones says there's a wealth of tales to be told.
