Police aim to deal with drink and drug driving 'robustly' during TT fortnight

Marked and unmarked vehicles will be deployed across the Island 

The Isle of Man Constabulary has announced a firm stance against drink and drug driving during this year's TT fortnight, following a notable increase in such incidents during 2024.

It's prompted police to encourage the use of public transport and to remind visitors and residents alike of the severe consequences of driving under the influence.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Danny Rotchell says over the past three years, 85% of all serious injury collisions involved males over the age of 50. 

In response, the constabulary plans to bolster its presence across the island, deploying both marked and unmarked vehicles, particularly around known collision hotspots:
