Police clamp down on speed and tyres

Officers out with radar detection equipment

Police were in the west of the Island monitoring drivers' speeds on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were out in central Kirk Michael with radar detection equipment.

The force's annual Tyre Safety Month is also continuing, with motorists regularly being inspected on the spot for their tread quality.

Having unsafe tyres can lead to three points on your licence, and a fine of £1,000 per defective tyre.
