25 of the 47 drivers stopped in Ballasalla had issues with their vehicles
Officers from the Isle of Man Constabulary's Roads Policing Unit say it's disappointing that more than half of the vehicles stopped in the latest round of winter vehicle checks were found to have defects.
A checkpoint was set up in Ballasalla last night, with 25 of the 47 drivers stopped being issued with vehicle defect rectification notices.
As well as faults with lights, cracked mirrors and no washer fluid, officers issued four motorists with penalty points and a fine for tyre offences.
The checks are taking place as part of Operation Uplift, which is aiming to keep road users safe over the winter months - you can find out more about the campaign HERE.
