More than 6,000 bikes passed through the ferry terminal

Police in Liverpool say they've seen a reduction in motorcycle thefts during the 2025 Isle of Man TT Races.

Over the racing fortnight, more than 6,000 motorcycles passed through the ferry terminal.

In a post on social media, Liverpool Police says it's seen a 100 percent reduction of motorcycle thefts in the city centre when compared to 2024, which stood at five.

In Anfield, there were two reported motorcycle thefts, which is a 66 percent reduction compared to last year when officers were alerted to six thefts.

A stolen car was located and recovered in the Ropewalks area of the city centre, and a scooter was seized after it failed to stop for traffic officers on Leeds Street.

Liverpool Ports Police also arrested one motorist for drink driving near the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal.

The results formed part of the partnership between departments in Liverpool, the Isle of Man Constabulary, car park providers and Lancashire Constabulary.

Operation Needle was also implemented, which is made up of the City Centre and Walton Lane Neighbourhood Policing Teams, which aimed to prevent any thefts.
