Fifteen defect notices issued near airport
Twenty-five vehicles have been stopped by police near to Ronaldsway Airport this morning in an attempt to improve the standards of vehicles used on the Island's roads.
It was part of Operation Uplift, which saw officers from the Roads Policing unit work with the Constabulary's Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team, Customs and the vehicle testing centre.
Fifteen defect notices were issued, along with seven drivers being asked to produce proof of car insurance.
Officers say none of these were fines and are instead 'simply a way in ensuring defects identified are fixed'.
