Police stop more defective vehicles

Nineteen out of 21 drivers given notice to fix faults

Almost all vehicles stopped by the Island's police in the latest round of winter checks were found to have defects.

Nineteen of the 21 motorists spoken to by officers last night were issued with defect notices.

Two endorsable tickets were also issued, as one driver was found to have an illegal tyre, while another was using a phone behind the wheel.

The Isle of Man Constabulary began the annual campaign last month in a bid to ensure cars are safe to be on the roads during the colder months.
