Young people are being encouraged to share photos or videos of themselves under the guise of a 'challenge'

Police are warning parents about a new TikTok trend which is encouraging young people to send images or videos of themselves, under the guise of a 'challenge'.

The warning comes weeks after the constabulary released advice around artificial intelligence (AI).

In a post on Facebook, it says the School Education Officers identified the ‘trend’ that is or could cause children harm.

It encourages young people to follow them for a 'shout out' thereafter the user asks for a picture or video in inappropriate poses in exchange for Robux (or Roblox currency) in return.
