'Policy decisions will be made here - not UK'

CM makes statement in the House of Keys

Howard Quayle insists any policy decision regarding anti-money laundering will be made in Tynwald - not Westminster.

He was speaking after recent proposals to impose sections of a UK Bill on the Isle of Man - which could've forced Manx officials create a public beneficial ownership register.

Responding to the matter, Mr Quayle said there is a lot of support for such registers among UK policymakers.

He moved to clarify the Island's position:
