Liberal Vannin and Manx Labour Party issue statements
The Island's political parties have called on government to take action over what they describe as 'coercive tactics' deployed by the Steam Packet Company.
It's after officers who are members of the Nautilus union were served notice of termination three days before Christmas as part of an ongoing dispute over their contracts of employment.
In a statement on social media, the Manx Labour Party said it 'stands in solidarity with workers' and urged the company and the government to stop the situation spiralling 'further out of control'.
Meanwhile, Liberal Vannin called on the Cannan administration to instruct the ferry operator to enter into binding arbitration.
We call on @IOMGovernment to instruct the @iomsteampacket to enter into binding arbitration to resolve the current 'live on board" dispute with their Nautilus Union employees
