Nearly 90 per cent of beef consumed in the Isle of Man is produced locally.
The figure has been revealed by the Department of Agriculture, which says the amount of imported beef being consumed on the Island is at its lowest level for a decade.
Last year beef importers used just over half of their quota, the lowest percentage for seven years.
Research by DAFF shows Manx beef is renowned for its freshness and quality.
