Work is resuming today (Monday) to repair the retaining wall at Port Jack in Onchan.
The project began last year, but was suspended in October because of the weather.
The work involves filling a large void behind the wall and stabilising the undermined structure.
A five tonne excavator is being taken to the site by barge to undertake the excavation work.
Materials will be delivered to the site over the next five weeks, but officials at the Department of Infrastructure hope to keep traffic disruption to a minimum.
