Two vacant seats on the board of Port St Mary Commissioners have been filled, subject to objections and withdrawals.
Bernadette McCabe and Daxa Patel were the only nominees when the positions were re-advertised, when there was a short-fall for candidates for next week's local authority general election.
Mrs McCabe, a dental receptionist, is well known as a British Legion standard bearer.
Mrs Patel, who describes herself as a housewife, is a governor of a local school.
Seven members of the Port St Mary board were returned unopposed, namely Robert Cooil, Alan Grace, Willie Hansen, John Hawkins, Ray Lakeman, Alex Merchant and Rebecca Sinfield.
All nine members are due to take up office from May 1.
