Early morning flights to London City could be agreed shortly - and be in place by the end of March next year.
In Tynwald this morning Economic Development Minister John Shimmin said recent meetings with BA City Flyer to discuss returning to a morning and evening service had been productive.
There has been a lot of concern recently about the Island's air links with London, with many worried that a lack of regular early morning flights to the City would be harmful for Island-based businesses.
However, Mr Shimmin hinted there could be a positive outcome to recent talks.
He also said he hoped to be in a position to make an announcement before Christmas regarding a twice daily service to Scotland, following talks with a potential operator.
