Possible treat for star-gazers

One of the best meteor showers of the year is reaching its peak over the next two days (Friday and Saturday) and, if skies are clear, there should be plenty for star-gazers in the Isle of Man to see.

The Perseid shooting stars can be seen until August 20, but the display should reach its peak for several hours from 10pm, tonight and tomorrow.

The advice is to get as far away from man-made light pollution as possible, so the eyes have time to adjust to the night sky.
