Strict conditions have been placed on the activities of a man jailed for sexual grooming, with the aim of minimising the risk of him reoffending when he completes his sentence.
Fifty-nine year old Anthony Edward Duggan was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for five years, but the court also granted a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, to stop him making contact with young people.
Detective Sergeant Cathryn Bradley says similar orders have been made in the past and, as in this case, the conditions always relate specifically to the circumstances in which the offences were committed (play audio file):
Duggan was jailed for 16 months for one offence of sexually grooming a 15-year-old boy.
