Primary hub children to return to normal schools this week

Transition plans speed up in lockdown exit preparation

Primary age children in educational hubs are due to return to their normal schools later this week.

It’s as plans are ramping up in preparation for all Island schools to reopen on Monday, if all goes to plan.

All but 14 educational hubs had closed during the circuit breaker lockdown.

Government hopes to lift all restrictions, bar the border policy, on Monday (1 February).

It would signify 28 days without a community case on the Island.

From Thursday this week, children who are currently at a primary hub will need to go back to their usual school, to be taught in bubbles.

The education department says this will enable local hubs to be created at all primary schools, for a 'smooth transition of the planned return of all children on Monday.'

All secondary hubs though, will continue as they are now until the end of the week.
