Prison governors defend condition of temporary cells

Portable cabins in 'good state of repair'

The Isle of Man Prison insists temporary cells being used on the site are in a good condition.

Portable cabins have been in use since 2024 due to the prison being over capacity.

Meanwhile, claims had been made that they were in a state of disrepair.

“We had a leak in one of the pods fairly recently, however, that was fixed by our own maintenance department, but they are in very good state of repair.” – Deputy Prison Governor Martin Phillips
