A new deepwater linkspan would attract cruise liners to the Island and encourage competition in sea freight services.
That's according to a LibVan candidate in next week's South Douglas by-election.
Speaking on Manx Radio's Mandate programme, Registered Mental Nurse and charity manager Keith Fitton says the idea for a privately funded linkspan has been a long term aim of the party:
