Private practice hopes to offer residents increased choice

Aims to open service by December

Residents of the Isle of Man could soon have access to more private medical care options.

Ghosh Medical Group is setting up a practice here and plans to be open by the start of next month.

It will offer a range of services including adult and paediatric ADHD assessments, private GP appointments and access to specialist services for people who would normally have to travel to the UK.

Founder Arun Ghosh says the logic behind the decision to set-up here was simple.

The company is aiming to service people across the Island who aren't ordinarily able to utilise their private medical insurance here.

It's something Dr Ghosh says will ease pressure on the Island's stretched health services:

But Health and Social Care Minister Lawrie Hooper isn't convinced:
