A sumptuous dinner served by the Isle of Man Victorian Society has been named a winner in a United Kingdom-wide competition to celebrate the Society's 50th anniversary.
The extravagant meal for 90 in the Booking Hall of Douglas Railway Station scooped the prize for the Most Lavish Spread! The Victorian themed meal included an array of Mrs Beeton-inspired puddings.
Groups around the nation marked the anniversary with elaborate feasts in outlandish locations, as the Victorians liked to do in the 19th century.
They included the top of Nelson's Column and the belly of the iguanadon at Crystal Palace.
